• Day 2: Sunrise trek on the snow‑covered trail, return to Kasol, and drop‑off at your hotel.

The trek is moderate. The total elevation gain is 600 m (Kasol 1580 m → Tosh 2100 m). Snow sections are short (30‑45 min) and well‑marked, but you’ll need basic fitness, good balance and the ability to walk on icy terrain. No technical climbing is required.
• Winter (December – February): Deep powder snow, clear skies – ideal for the “snow trek” experience (cold, sub‑zero nights).
• Early Spring (March – April): Snow is still present but milder daytime temperatures.
• Late Autumn (October – November): Light snow patches, pleasant weather.
Avoid monsoon (July‑September) – trails become slippery and the valley is prone to landslides.
• Clothing: Thermal base layers, fleece/jacket, waterproof insulated shell, warm hat, gloves, wool socks.
• Footwear: Sturdy trekking boots + optional insulated liners.
• Gear: Trekking poles, headlamp, sunglasses (UV protection), sunscreen, personal water bottle (minimum 1 L), small daypack.

While you can trek independently, a licensed local guide is strongly recommended for safety on snow‑covered sections, navigation, and cultural insights. The guide is included in the price of the Tosh Valley snow trek tour.
We partner with Deluxe guest houses/camps and homestays offering comfortable rooms, hot water, and Wi‑Fi. Options include:
All include breakfast, dinner & a packed lunch for the trek day.
Tosh Valley sits at ~2,100 m, which is low‑risk for acute altitude sickness. However, if you are sensitive to altitude or have respiratory issues, we advise a medical check‑up before the trek. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, and ascend gradually (Kasol → Tosh).
In December‑February: Night temperatures can drop to ‑5 °C to ‑10 °C; daytime around 2 °C–8 °C. Snow is present on the trail, but sunshine is common. Always carry a wind‑proof jacket and layers for rapid temperature changes.
