Trekking Tour To Beas Kund

The package covers:
• 2 nights of camping in Dhundi (Day 1) and Bakarthach (Day 2) – both fully equipped with sleeping bags, mattresses and a communal kitchen.
• All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) prepared on site using local, high‑energy ingredients.
• A professional English‑speaking guide, a certified trek‑leader, and a cook.
• Transportation from Chandigarh to the trailhead (Mandi) and back.

This is a moderate trek (Grade 2). The total elevation gain is ~1,200 m, with the highest point at Beas Kund (3,350 m / 11,000 ft). It is suitable for beginners with basic fitness and for experienced trekkers seeking a short alpine adventure. No technical climbing equipment is required.

Camping in Beas Kund is temporary – you will camp at the Bakarthach site (1 km from the lake). The camp consists of sturdy, weather‑proof canvas tents with insulated sleeping mats, individual sleeping bags (rated to –5 °C), a communal kitchen, and a heated bathroom block with hot water. All facilities are maintained daily by the camp staff.

The trek includes three full meals + snacks each day:
• Breakfast: porridge, boiled eggs, fruit, tea/coffee.
• Lunch: simple, high‑energy dishes such as dal‑rice, noodles, sandwiches, and energy bars.
• Dinner: warm thalis (vegetarian or non‑vegetarian on request) with local Himachali specialties, soup, and desserts.
All meals are prepared with fresh ingredients and cater to dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten‑free, nut‑free).

Essential items:
• Trekking boots (water‑proof, ankle support).
• Warm layers – fleece, down jacket, thermal wear.
• Waterproof rain jacket & pants.
• Headlamp with extra batteries.
• Personal sleeping bag (optional – the camp provides one).
• Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen).
• Water bottle / hydration system (2 L).
• Basic first‑aid kit & personal medication.
Not allowed: large backpacks (>25 L) for overnight stays – the camp will store your gear.

Peak season: late June – early October when the trail is clear of snow and the weather is stable.
• June‑July – lush greenery, occasional showers.
• August‑September – monsoon may bring brief showers, but the lake is at its fullest.
• October – crisp air, great visibility of the surrounding peaks.
Winter treks (Nov‑May) are not recommended due to heavy snowfall and closed routes.

The maximum group size is 12 participants (including guide and support staff). Smaller groups (4‑6) are possible on request, allowing a more intimate experience.

The package includes a shared air‑conditioned minivan from Shimla or Chandigarh to Mandi (4 hrs). From Mandi, a local jeep takes you to the trek‑start point (near the Mandi‑Bhatli road). Private taxi options can be arranged at an additional cost.

The trek is moderate and suitable for healthy adults 18 years and older. Children under 12 and seniors above 65 are not recommended due to the altitude and overnight camping. Special medical clearance is required for participants with chronic conditions.
