Arrive at Leh Airport (IXL), where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The most important activity of Day 1 is resting and allowing your body to acclimatize to the altitude—do not rush or exert yourself.

In the late afternoon, once settled, take a gentle local trip to explore the heart of the city:

• Leh Market: Get a feel for the local life.
• Leh Palace: View the historic royal residence.
• Namgyal Tsemo Monastery: A short hike offering panoramic views.
• Shanti Stupa: Conclude the day by witnessing a spectacular sunset view over the Leh Valley.

Today, we take a cultural day trip through the lower reaches of the Indus Valley, often referred to as Sham Valley. This route aids in further acclimatization while exploring ancient sites.

Key Visits:

• Indus-Zanskar Confluence: Witness the dramatic meeting point of the two mighty rivers.
• Basgo Palace: Explore the ruins of this 16th-century fortress and former royal seat.
• Likir Monastery: Home to a magnificent 75-foot gold-plated Buddha statue.
• Alchi Monastery: Explore one of Ladakh’s oldest and most historically significant monasteries, renowned for its 11th-century Kashmiri-influenced art and detailed murals.

Return to Leh in the late afternoon. Overnight Stay: Leh Hotel.

The adventure crests today as we drive toward Nubra Valley. We will cross the formidable Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft), historically recognized as the world's highest motorable road. Take a short stop for photographs before descending into the valley.

Upon arrival in the afternoon, we check in and proceed for local sightseeing:

• Diskit Monastery: Visit the largest and oldest monastery in Nubra, featuring the impressive Maitreya Buddha statue overlooking the valley.
• Hunder Sand Dunes: Explore the surreal landscape of cold desert dunes. Enjoy an optional ride on the double-humped Bactrian camels (at your own cost).

After breakfast, we drive further north to the remote village of Turtuk. Situated just miles from the Pakistan border (LOC), Turtuk was opened to tourists only recently and offers a unique cultural confluence, being predominantly a Balti Muslim village.

Spend time exploring the unique architecture, orchards, and local life of this "Last Village of India." Return to Nubra Valley by evening.

Overnight Stay: Nubra Valley Camp/Hotel.

Prepare for a spectacular drive today as we connect Nubra Valley directly to Pangong Tso via the stunning, less-traveled route. We will ascend and cross the Chang La Pass (17,500ft).

Arrive at the famous Pangong Tso (Lake), known for its dramatic changes in color from azure to deep blue. Spend the evening exploring the lakeshore and witnessing the incredible sunset.

Overnight Stay: Pangong Camps. (Note: Accommodation at Pangong is simpler, offering an authentic high-altitude camping experience.)

Wake up early to catch the mesmerizing sunrise over Pangong Tso before beginning the return journey to Leh.

On the route back, we stop to visit two of Ladakh’s most venerated religious sites:

• Thiksey Monastery: A stunning gompa often compared to the Potala Palace in Lhasa.
• Hemis Monastery: The largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh, belonging to the Drukpa Lineage.
• Magnetic Hill: Experience the optical illusion where vehicles seem to defy gravity.

The evening is free for souvenir shopping in the bustling Leh Market.
